Light my fire.

I've been trying to change up our house a little bit. I redesigned the furniture in our living room and even the lighting is set up differently.

At some point I might look to Murray Feiss for some different lighting options. They look great and don't cost an arm and a leg!

Mama can't be sick...

it's just not possible!

However, when I woke up from my nap today I started realizing that I had drippy throat and a headache. UGH.

Tomorrow's going to be a long day with two kids at home and no help.

YUMMY.

Can I just say that we're hooked on Pomegranates!?!

We first started eating them in New York City when we received one in a fruit basket. We loved picking out the seeds and they were so fresh. We ate them straight and decided to add them to salads.

Maybe this summer we should consider Pomegranate trees in our back yard?

It'd be great to run outside and pick one straight from the tree!

Birthday parties everywhere!

Graem has been invited to so many birthday parties!

Tomorrow she's going to Dobbs' birthday party at his house. The theme looks to be transformers and we picked up a puppy game the other day that we think he might like.

Graem's party is next weekend and we're having it at the Sciencenter. She chose the frog theme complete with a worker bringing in live frogs for the kids to play with.

I don't know how I'm going to manage with 10 - 4 year olds running around!

We know better now...

We just got finished dealing with Margot's Dad's life insurance. To say the least we've learned a lot through the whole process.

We've learned about wills, life insurance, debt, and funeral arrangements. It's quite unfortunate that we've all had to learn about this stuff at such an early age.

We currently have whole life insurance but I think we might look at term life insurance online. Margot's dad had term life insurance and it's been pretty easy to work with.

I have a four year old?

How bizarre.

Seriously...when I think of my kids I think of a two year old an a newborn. I still remember when Grammy was crawling and now I have another baby on the move and a BIG KID!

Graem will be four years old tomorrow and we're going to one of her friend's birthday parties at his house. Graem has requested sushi for her birthday dinner and Uncle Dennis will be in town to join in on the festivities!

Take me away!

Part of our plans this winter are to schedule a vacation in a nice, sunny destination.

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is that I've got to start going to the gym and eating better.

These snow days are killers when you're locked inside and all you do is eat!

Maybe I should look into fat burners or something to do the job!

So tomorrow...

I think I'm going to head down to the Holiday Inn to talk to the front-desk manager. I've got to beg for the $144 back that was charged to my credit card.

When my car got stuck in the snow I decided to walk to HOliday Inn and make reservations. In the midst of being towed, and getting into it with the cops I forgot to cancel reservations.

So, hopefully the lady will have mercy and I can go in with my two crying children and get my food money back!

It's almost a new year...

and we've got to do something about our fatness!

I've thought about researching Decaslim. I've heard it's the newest thing when it comes to weight loss and if it's all natural - it's something I might not mind taking while nursing.

I've got to do something! We're planning a sunny beach vacation and mama needs to get into her new swim suit!

STuck.

Yesterday we got stuck in the friggin' snow off of Aurora Street. Talk about suckage. Margot was gunning the minivan up the hill and we just kept spinning out of control.

In the end we had to get towed and that cost us $55 DAMN dollars. Then of course we ended up eating bad food - $50 and I forgot to cancel the hotel room $144.

A really fucking bad day.

Since we're not moving ....

anytime soon. I think I should get some good Christmas gifts in the form of electronics!

I have had my eye on a big screen plasma television for some time. Each year we watch the price go down and this year it seems like it's finally reached an affordable price.

My aching feet.

I went to the doctor the other day because every night my feet ache every time i try to walk on them.

I've had Planters Fachitis before and so I was pretty sure it's the same thing. Sure enough.

The doctor said to do ice packs nightly, ordered physical therapy, and said that Birkenstocks are actually good for your feet!

Of course, I haven't done any of the above and my feet are still killing me.

For sale!

That's right.

Our house is on the market. It went up Monday and we've already had two families come out to look at it. We have a real estate sign in our front yard and I'm not sure it's actually getting much attention. Maybe we should look into digital signage.

That way when people pass our house they can actually see that it's on the market!

Snowstorm

Today we're expected to get 8-24 inches of snow! I'm surprised that they haven't cancelled Grammy's school yet and I keep checking the newspaper online.

This weekend's going to be a real blast with us packed into the house like sardines.

Is it real?

When we were cleaning out Margot's Dad's house we came across all of his expensive watches. Among those were Audemars Piguet, Rolex, and Cartier.

Of course, we can't figure out which ones are real or fake! Margot's brother took the Rolex because we know that's real. But we took all of the other ones and figure that we'll take them to the jewelry store at some point.

It's one of those things that we'll just keep in the family. Who knows...we could have a little boy next?

Or maybe we'll just wait for Graem and Emmy to have kids of their own!

A no go.

Let's just say that the house deal was a bust. The attorney never could get her shit together and wanted us to wait forever to get all offers in.

I still think ours was probably the highest - but I'm sure it's over now.

Shitty night last night and now I just want to crawl back into bed and go to sleep.

Instead, I've got to get out and go to Target to pick up gifts for G's teachers.

At some point...

we're going to find the perfect house. I just know it.

Then we're going to fix it up exactly the way we want it. One of our first priorities is to do the carpet/hardwood floors.

Next on the list is to get a flat screen plasma television and home theater seating! I've always wanted a great family room and if we have the space...we're going for it!

Bullshit.

Can I just say how raving mad I am at this bitchass attorney that is in charge of the selling of the house that we want?

She's not communicating at all with our real estate agent and she's power tripping all over the place by acting like our offer is too low.

The friggin' house has been on the market for over three months with one other offer that was $50,000 less than asking price!

Augh. We need to find another house.

Thursday, December 11, 2008

I can't get enough ...

of the promotional business gifts that were offered at Margot's ASLA conference!

She was able to land me a ticket to the exhibit and I went up and down the isles and acted like I was interested in products. What I was really interested in was the great pens, tape measures, t-shirts, and kazoos!

They didn't have good stuff like this for healthcare fairs!!

Adoption time!

I'm pretty psyched for our adoption tomorrow. This one went SO fast and I'm glad that we didn't have to wait a year and a half like Graem's adoption.

I'm going to dress little Emm up cute tomorrow and I'm sure we'll have some cute photos to share.

A move?

At some point we might be moving and we'll be in the market for a truck rental.

We still have our eyes on the house in Northeast but we're hoping that they accept our offer. We ran the numbers tonight and we can afford to offer more but the more we offer the less we have to remodel the new house.

I think we might just wait around and hope that they lower the price...

She's sleeping...

that's right.

Little Emmy is asleep on my lap and I'm afraid the second I get up she's going to be up for the night. Of course, I might decide to dose little girl with a bit of Tylenol.

I keep thinking that she's going to cut those teeth but instead she's just a big cranky pants.

Do I need this?

I wanna go!

I'm kind of bummed that I won't be able to go to my "girl's get together" in Las Vegas. The girls that I have come to love are getting together in February and I'd love to go.

However, I'm totally not into traveling alone and leaving Margot and the kids for a full weekend. I think I'd be an absolute wreck and wouldn't be able to enjoy myself.

The last time we were in Las Vegas we looked all over for a goodlas vegas strip map. We tried to map out each day and make an itinerary! Of course, with a kid you can't really do that and most of the time we would do something fun in the morning, grab lunch, and come back home for a nap!

Another week passes...

I really can't believe how big Emmy has gotten. It seems like time is going by so fast and I wish I could just freeze time. Especially since she's sleeping now!

I'm not sure what the future holds but I must say I'm starting to miss her being a baby-baby. I know she's still small and tiny but I know I'm going to miss it when she doesn't need me as much.

Whether it be nursing or just need me to pick her up for comfort - those are the things I have really enjoyed.

I know I should just live in the moment and not think of all of this so much...

Happy Halloween!

I can hardly believe that it's Halloween! This time last year I was sportin' some wicked morning sickness and I remember throwing up right before I took Grammy trick or treating!

Now I have a chili pepper and batman that I'm going to take out tomorrow to collect treats!!

My little pill.

I miss taking my weight loss pills!

They really were the magic ingredient to my massive weight loss before I got pregnant. Now you can look online for an alli review and decide if it's a good option.

Once I stop nursing I will more than likely get back on weight loss meds so that I can drop these unwanted pounds.

SLEEP.

I'm in need of some serious sleep. Last night was brutal and Emmy was on the boob constantly.

She gets so upset if she turns and god forbid there's not a nipple in her mouth!

I love it when she goes to bed in her crib because she sleeps so much better at night.

SO DO I!

We need to get away!

We've been talking about a vacation and right now we're still undecided on a location. All we can agree on is that we want a sunny beach destination!

Of course, we could look at Brazil vacation packages and get everything included in one price.

Once you start working on travel arrangements for FOUR people ... things get a little bit harder!

Snow?

I just turned on the television to find out that we're scheduled to get SNOW SHOWERS this Tuesday.

WTF?

It seems like it's way too early for this!

We chose the wrong one...

When I was pregnant we decided to get the Phil and Ted's stroller. We liked the color green which it was offered in and our friend who had one said it was perfect for two kids.

A few days ago I saw a Bob stroller and I must admit...I WANT IT!

It looks like it's made better, the colors were cool, and the brake looked easy to use. (Unlike the P&T!)

Maybe I'll post the P&T on craigslist and see if I get any hits and then go out and buy the BoB!

UN Day at Grammy's school.

While I appreciate all of the great things that are going on at Grammy's school I must admit that UN day has really put us to the test!

We are on the search for "Chinese" garb and of course Ithaca has NOTHING! So we've actually asked Margot's brother to look in NYC for something.

Thank God they were able to find something and now we're just wondering if Graem should wear her Chinese outfit with cowboy boots to represent her 1/2 whitie descent!

We'll never get lost again?

That's what I thought would happen when we bought our GPS! However, there have been a few times when the GPS doesn't recognize where we are and ends up taking us in circles!

When we were in Philly it couldn't detect satelite through the big buildings and kept telling to turn left, and left, and left!!!

Snack!

It's our week to do snack at school and I must admit I'm a little stressed out! They have all these do's and don'ts about what you can and can't bring. Of course there's no peanut butter.

We're running out in a few minutes to Wegmans to pick up goodies and I just hope that this doesn't break the bank and cost us an arm and a leg!

Something special.

I've already started looking for Christmas gifts for the kids. I was able to pick Emmy up some toys the other day at Target.

We have Graem one big toy already and we're more than likely going to have to buy her a few more.

I think it'd be really cool if I could get the kids some personalized books. Both kids love books and they'd love to see their names in print!

4 1/2 months already.

I seriously can't believe how damn big little Emmy is getting. Each day seems to be flying by too fast. I see a newborn and I'm shocked at how big she is!

Last night was our first real night of peaceful sleep and she slept from 8pm to 6am this morning!

What a mess...

I'm talking about the economy.

Every day we think that it can't get much worse....and of course, it does.

Our friend, L, calls us with a daily update and then we talk about what we're going to do. We've been talking about futures trading and we're still trying to figure out exactly what they are and when would be a good time to purchase.

I still think that the stock market has a little bit lower to go before we might invest and I heard the other day that it could go as low as 7,000.

Yikes.

Leaky all over.

This time I'm not talking about our leaky baby! I'm talking about kitchen faucets!

Our kitchen is in desperate need of renovation. The countertops are speckled and the painted cabinents have seen better days. They only thing we've really done to the kitchen is laminate do-it-yourself tiles and installed a new faucet.

It all takes money and time!

Two things that we just don't have.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Not going anywhere!

I swore when we bought our house that we'd never move again. Not that I wouldn't want a bigger house because God knows this 1,500 square foot house is getting a little small with two kids!

It's just that moving is such a pain and over the years we've accumulated way too much junk!

Of course, I might consider it if we hired moving trucks and people to move all of our stuff....

My feet are killing me!

It seems like every night I complain that my arches and heels are hurting. Sometimes I'm able to get a nice foot massage out of it. But most nights I walk around on my tiptoes because nothing seems to help.

I've given up on flip-flips for the time being and one of my friends mentioned Clarks shoes. Supposedly they have great arch supports and are a really good shoe.

*click*

Not sure if you've noticed or not but our website is full of pictures. I try every Friday to post photos as to document the weekly happenings.

We have a Canon Powershot and it takes such great photos. Not to mention, it's easy to use and captures the picture without the blur.

The best part is that the camera doesn't cost an arm and leg and you can probably pick one up for around $200 or so.

Sunday, September 07, 2008

So dry.

I'm talking about the air in our house.

It has since helped that we purchased a new heater and humidifier.

However, since Grammy has asthma and the new baby seems to always have a runny nose I think it's going to be important to have a nice humidifier in addition.

Maybe I'll look into Air O Swiss humidifiers. I've heard they're great for allergies and since we all suffer from nasty allergies we might as well try everything we can!

Movin' on up...

This week I have a few things that need to be completed. Included are the staining for the drawers and putting G's carseat back together.

Then I'm going to paint the living room! Of course that means that I'm also going to have to figure out what color, get new window treatments.

Who knows...I might even be tempted to purchase modern furniture!

Pop it?

My acne is absolutely horrible. I've discovered that the only cure is for me to get pregnant and that isn't happening any time soon!

So I should probably start looking for treatments for acne.

I go to my dermatologist next week and might mention the acne to him. However, I'm not into using prescribed medication since I'm nursing and many of the medicines haven't been tested on nursing moms.

The gift of alcohol.

This Christmas we're going to try to be smarter about gifts. I have been picking up some here and there when I see them on sale.

For our friends Alex and Dom they always get us the perfect gift and I feel like we fall short of the perfect gift. This year we're thinking of enrolling them in a wine of the month club.

They live in California and love good wine. They also travel often and I'm sure that they've been able to taste wine from all over the world.

Monday, August 18, 2008

And it's good for you too.

I love things that taste good, are a good buy, and best of all...are good for me!

One place that caught my eye online is Orovo. They offer an online store that has products made from the finest ingredients at reasonable prices.

I like the fact that they have a listing of "superfoods". On the list are drinks, detox products, and multi-vitamins.

Just the other day Margot and I were talking about doing a week long detox...here's our chance!

Stupid kid.

When I was in middle school and high school I was constantly in front of the mirror picking my pimples. Nightly.

I became so obsessed that to this day I still have acne scarring.

I see my Dermatologist in the next few weeks and I think I might talk to him about acne scars cream.

I figure there might be something out there that will help with the scarring and even my ongoing acne issue.

Our stupid computer.

Our computer is constantly causing us to say nasty words. The other night we tried to do Skype with my parents and the laptop froze on three different occassions. Then when it finally did reboot we kept getting an error message.

I know we need to buy memory but very honestly I keep thinking that all the memory in the world isn't going to help Windows Vista work properly!

Hard to find?

I just mentioned the fact that it looks like over the next year or so we're going to have to think about getting a new television and dvd/home theatre set. Ours is right on the brink of dying.

Of course, we'd also have to think about a tv stand too.

Maybe we'll have enough tax refund money to buy a nice, new system!

Nursing's not enough!

So I've been trying to lose weight on the nursing diet. To say the least...it's not working! I've been maintaining which is good. However, I'm starving all of the time. I think if I just started eating healthier food I'd probably be in good shape.

If I weren't nursing I'd look into Lipovox. It overs some great benefits with few side effects.

Of course, there's always my fall back diet drugs that helped me lose weight before...

shocked.

A few years ago we decided to get a life insurance quote from our regular insurance provider. Mine came back high since I've got the chunk factor.

Margot is extremely healthy and had asthma her whole life - however, she got nailed for it in the quote and they wanted to charge us way too much to have minimal coverage.

We've talked about looking elsewhere but haven't had the time. Maybe I'll add that to my list of things to do this week!

Friday, July 18, 2008

I give up.

Our computer is an absolute piece of crap. It crashes at least once a day and when we were in Houston my dad informed us that it needs more memory to actually run Windows Vista. Augh.

I'm about to give up on PCs all together and move on over to the dark side -- a Mac! I'm sure that more Mac memory isn't needed to run their main operating system!

Friday, July 11, 2008

Yikes!

It's not baby fat, unfortunately. At this point almost six weeks postpartum I'm not sure I can blame these extra pounds on the pregnancy!

I've been trying to eat a little better and it's helped that I have been able to nurse because I burn a lot of calories that way.

However, I miss the good ole days when I could use Fenphedra to help me lose those unwanted pounds!

Friday, July 04, 2008

Give back to your pets.

We've been traveling a lot the past few days and I must admit that I feel guilty about not providing time for our pets. Poor Murphy is all about the love when we walk in the door and instantly tries to escape.

Then there's Bailey. She's super needy all of the time and when we pick her up from the kennel she has the worst breath and needs a bath.

We've discovered a great website ZooToo.com that connects petowners with each other. In fact, they have different promotions to help pet shelters and rescue groups around the country, among which they donate up to $1 mil makeover every year to a deserving and community supported shelter.

I like the feature that helps people find local vets and gives information to help them care for their animals.

Stupid computer.

When we were in Houston my dad mentioned that our computer needed more memory and an upgrade in order to operate Windows Vista.

Little did we know or did Dell make it public that you'd have to have major computer memory in order to run their programs!

I guess they were just trying to keep the prices down when selling machines ... and also trying to bring in money to their bottom line.

Losin'

I must say that when we get back to Ithaca and Monday rolls around I'm going to start up with a weight loss program.

I figure I'll just do what has worked in the past and what makes the most sense. Eat less and move more.

The reality is... I have the nursing thing going for me and if I can treat my body better I'm bound to drop some serious poundage.

Monday, June 30, 2008

Feeling used?

Lately, I've really been trying to find things that I can recycle or buy used. For example, today I went to the kid's resale shop to purchase clothes for the kids. I got some great deals on clothes that were barely used.

Just the other day my dad was talking about how he likes to purchase used cisco for his office. He can get a great deal and many times the only reason why they are available is because the company is upgrading to a newer model.

15 days old!

Today I took Emmy to my old work and showed her to the staff. One of the residents was dying to hold a baby and so I let her hold Emmy for a few minutes. It was precious and I must say that I really miss having older people in my life.

In fact, the lady who was holding her (Ruth) mentioned how her mother's name was Emmy. So holding a baby named Emmy must have been super special.

Maybe I can figure out a way to volunteer at the senior citizen's council or the assisted living place when Emmy gets older.

Not so tired.

Right now.

We actually have slept pretty good the past few nights and the thing that I'm starting to realize is that I just have to pace myself and try to do my best to sleep when the baby sleeps.

Of course, that's easier said than done and I have a pretty hard time going to sleep in the middle of the day.

We're giving up on WIndows.

At least that what Margot says each time our computer craps out. She's looking at getting a Linux machine to run email and a web browser on. We figure that since that's what we mostly do on a computer there's no need to put up with Windows Vista.

We might even consider getting a Linksys router at some point so that we can go wireless!

Monday, June 16, 2008

It's that time...

for me to lose weight.

I'm already down almost 30 pounds from my pregnancy weight. Of course, 15 or so were directly from the baby and I'm guessing that the other 15 was water weight.

While I'm nursing I won't be able to start on a diet pill that works.

Before when I weighed a lot I was on diet pills and they really helped me lose the weight. In fact, it was just the little jumpstart that I needed in order to lose a total of 75 pounds!

I can't wait...

til I'm eligible for medicare insurance and social security. Of course, by the time I'm eligible there will be no money in the budget and I'll be slumming it on the street.

Maybe the whole thought is to have more kids so that they can all pay for me to have healthcare and put me into a nice assisted living?

Monday, June 02, 2008

What's the point?

The last time we were at Margot's dad's house we watched a lot of television. The one thing I couldn't figure out was how to get the closed captioning turned off of the television.

Margot's dad has it on because he's hard of hearing and so he likes to read the script.

Of course, it's hard for me because he has this beautiful television with great bose speakers set up and all you can see is the bright green writing at the bottom of the screen!

Take me away!

Before Alex and Dom left to go back home we decided that we should meet up again in the next six months.

The one place that we agreed on was the Virgin Islands! We thought that it would probably make sense for us to rent through St. John villa rentals!

We've all heard of the great villas they have and it just makes sense when you're going with a group of people including a family of four with two small kids!

Good times!

It was so much fun to have the boys visiting last week. I really do wish they had more time to spend though. Of course, I know we could always visit them too!

Alex was studying for his pharmaceutical job and this week he's going to be in Atlanta. They have a two week training seminar full of testing and hard core studying that they make all drug reps undergo.

I'm sure while he's there he'll check out the jobs in Atlanta!

I've got to do something!!

I just realized...that I'm just a few pounds away from being the fattest I've ever been.

Of course, I am nine and a half months pregnant...but still.

I worked very hard to get to a nice and comfortable weight and after the baby comes I really want to get back down.

I could go out and join the club again, however, I'm horrible at the treadmills and figure that it's summer time and with a new baby I might not have all of the time in the world.

Maybe I'll spend more time outside and even get a membership to the local swimming pool. That way I can take the kids, work on my tan, and be outside!

Are you secure?

Today Margot went to check on our friend C's birds. C&A are out of town visiting grandma in Dallas. Margot had no idea how to work the alarm and I'm assuming all went good because I haven't heard her calling from jail!

One system that seems pretty decent is ademco. It might actually be the perfect alarm system for our little house too and something we will probably consider if our redneck neighbors don't leave soon!

Maybe?

So as I'm doing all of my blogging I'm starting to realize that I've had some pretty decent contractions.

Holy shit.

Umm....is this it?

I think I'm just going to sit tight and continue to do "work". At least that way I can make a few dollars before little Emmy makes her appearance.

PLUS...it seems like everytime I get excited about contractions or the prospect of Emmy coming she stops and it all goes away.

MUST IGNORE PAIN.

Silver!

One thing that never loses it’s value is silver! Even when our stocks are floundering you can always look to silver, gold, and precious metals to maintain their value.

Monex Deposit Company offers silver, gold, and other precious metals for delivery or they will make arrangements to have your metals stored privately and securely at a bank or depository.

You can buy gold coin through Monex and they make it very easy through their website.

I didn’t realize this but Monex Deposit Company (MDC) is an industry leader. They sell gold in two forms: coin or ingot. The world demand now exceeds the supply demand for gold - which makes it a pretty smart investment.

I love the boys...

Alex and Dom.

I really do wish that they lived closer to us and we got to see them more. Alex arrived in Wednesday and we've had such a great time. Dominic arrived yesterday.

When they come down it's like we pick up where we left off last time.

Graem has gotten to the point of hopping on them and she calls them both "her friends."

She really loves them and I'm so glad that if anything were to happen we know she'd be cared and loved for by two great guys.

10 more days?

Yeah, right.

This is seriously going on forever and I can't tell when in the hell this little girl is going to get here!

I swear I've tried everything and nothing seems to work!

Do you think she wants to stay in there forever?

Friday, May 16, 2008

Take me away!

I can't wait to get away after we have the baby.

We booked our flights the other night to Houston and I was shocked that although we used frequent flyer miles Graem's ticket was still $525.00! It's a good thing that the baby flies free or else we really wouldn't have been able to go.

We have nothing on the agenda because we really don't know how Emerson is going to be and we don't know how well I'll be feeling after popping out the kid!

More than likely, though, when we get back from Houston we will take a few weeks of downtime and then go see Margot's family in Brooklyn. When we go there we always have big plans of doing stuff and then we end up doing absolutely nothing because driving in and out of the city is a pain.

There are so many things to do in New York that many times it can be overwhelming!

Trusted Tours and Attractions offer a newsletter which is like no other. It lists all of the great things to do in big cities and right now if you sign up you are entered to win a $150 iTunes gift card. Offer ends Saturday, May 31st, 2008.

We've also thought about heading to Boston to see another one of my friends who is a graduate student at Harvard. Of course, we'd be interested in Things to do in Boston!

Maybe we'll just stick with sightseeing tours. That way you don't have to worry about driving in a city you don't know. Plus, you don't have to pay for parking and you can just sit back and enjoy the ride!!

Excited and scared.

Last week I went to the midwife because I felt tons of pressure and assumed the baby dropped. I was a total wreck. I think I felt hurried.

I also had this whole idea that I would make it to 37 week and since day 1 that had been my goal.

When I was in the waiting room I had tons of contractions and then all of a sudden I get my blood pressure taken and it's on the high side.

So I assume that things aren't going good and of course I get worked up and start crying! I was also scared because I had told Margot that there was no need for her to come to the appointment and I'd call her if I needed her.

Well, that was probably the *one* appointment where I really needed her there!

All things worked out and I'm guessing it was just some fluky pregnancy thing where I tweak out and then I'm fine!

Where are you?!?!

So I'm totally just hanging out today and waiting for my water to break.

Each night before I go to bed I try to make sure that the house is in good shape, laundry is done, and everything is ready for the big moment!

I'm actually embarassed to admit that the other day I shaved my legs and other parts and due to the cold/hot weather I've gotten some weird rash all over!

The weather has been pretty decent lately - but I'm so sick of it getting cold! This morning it was in the 40's after being in the 70's the past few days.

I'm starting to get sick and have the whole drippy throat and runny nose thing going on.

I really can't wait to be able to take meds once this kid comes out. I've been too scared to take even a sudafed because I wanted to make sure that the baby is healthy. Heck, I've even stayed away from Tylenol!

We're in trouble.

This morning Margot woke me up to tell me about this tiny computer that was for sale on Buy.com! Of course, she wants it because I'm a computer hog and tend to work on blogging or email and she hardly gets her time.

She thinks it's a best buy and we should jump on it immediately!

Me, on the otherhand, am in no real hurry to spend $500! Why would I, right?

37 week belly shots.

A new watch?

I'm so glad that I'm getting through my to-do list. Before I know it I won't have anything on the list and it will be time birth the baby. (Yeah, I'm sure that's how it works, right?)

A few years back Margot purchased a new Skagen watch for me and it's been great. I just purchased a new batttery for it and I expect that it will be good as new!

However, I just saw the beautiful breguet watches and they are really great timepieces!

I was able to find some great watches at ViaLuxe! The website was easy to use and I like the set up. Not to mention, the pictures of the stunning watches are amazing. It makes me want to buy a few watches.

Of course, I'd have to spend Emmy and Grammy's college fund to do that. But you never know when I might hit the lottery! (I guess I'd have to play first, right?)

Not only are they classics with a great look...but they have a great reputation for being competent and hardy watches that can withstand almost anything!

God knows, I'm going to need a decent watch with two kids and and endless amount of baby barf landing on me!

I don't have a problem...

Really.

That's what we kept hearing every time we'd visit one of our loved ones. We were in denial too because it's much easier to not see a problem than to dive in and deal with it.

Little did we know that in a few short weeks it would get so bad that we'd be admitting our loved one into drug rehab.

It wasn't an easy decision...but one we had to make.

I'm glad we did because our loved one is doing well and on the road to a life free of drug addiction.

I love my treatments!

In fact, today I'm going for my chiropractic appointment and a massage afterwards! Next week I might go for a pedicure.

I've been trying to pamper myself a little bit each week because I know that after the baby comes there's going to be no time for that.

Plus, it makes the time left being pregnant go by pretty fast if I have something to look forward to.

One treatment I should look into after having this baby is acne treatments! My face is so splotchy these days and it seems like I get a pimple and it stays on my face for months before actually going away.

What is happening?

The other day Graem pointed out that I had ear hair. Then she pointed out that I had nose hair. Right when I had thought she had been brutal enough she started in on my pimples!

Thanks kid, right?

A few years ago I was given acne treatment to try to clear up my skin. It was outrageously expensive and insurance didn't cover a dime!

Why am I in my thirties and still getting pimples? I thought that was suppose to end when you graduate from high school!

You've heard of air guitar, right?

Well, now there's a new kid on the block - air tools!

Margot would be in heaven if she came across etoolsnow.com! They have some great tools and air tools seem to be the way to go. I can guarantee you that if she were to see all of the great tools available she would justify how to get them.

I should have her sign a contract to do the deck and for every 10 hours she puts in on the house -- she gets a new tool.

A nice rental...

is what I would be up for during maternity leave!

I'm not one for staying at a hotel and very honestly I just like to spread out and make myself at home when I am on vacation.

What really makes sense is the idea of Branson rentals! Not only can you get a great deal on a nice rental but Branson is a wonderful place for small and big kids to have a fun time and see some great country music!

Yee-Haw!

Must add...

to our to do list - install new home theatre and speaker mount!

Margot's dad gave us an old Sony Home Theatre DVD and speaker set last time we were in New York City. Ours died a while back and every once in a while as you're watching a program it will all of a sudden go dead or create this deafening noise!

So maybe this weekend we'll get around to installing our "new to us" home theatre system!

Maternity = Vacation time?

It's all up in the air now with Margot's dad. Because her brother has been pulling double time with his care, school, and work. So when the baby gets here it's going to mean us stepping in a lot more to manage his care and also physically take care of him.

However, if all goes well and he's doing better I don't think it'd be out of the realm of possibility for us to take a trip or mini-vacation!

In fact, I've heard that Hilton Head rentals are the place to go for a nice get away. It just makes sense when you have a family to go to a nicer place that offers space and a home-like atmosphere!

If it's not one thing...

Yesterday Margot got an email that her dad had been taken to the cardiac ICU and that he was going to be put on a CPAP machine and also intubated if things didn't get better with his heartrate and breathing.

Of course, this caused major concern and yesterday afternoon was spent on the phone with doctors and family figuring out if she should go to NYC or wait it out.

It seems like we're always trying to juggle things in our life. A few years back it was dealing with a loved one and managing their drug rehabilitation...now it's working with the hospitals and social workers at the hospital.

Blind as a bat.

The other day on my way back from Syracuse I stopped at the local optical. Our friend, Rich, is the owner and always gives us great deals on glasses.

We talked about the fact that it's been almost five years since I've had a check up and new glasses! Of course, he's telling me to wait until after I have the baby to get this done because the hormones can really whack out my eyes.

Until then I should think about getting a magnifier to help with viewing the computer and books!
