Toot your own horn.

When I was in junior high school I played the flute.   It wasn't the instrument I wanted.   When we were testing instruments I was dying to learn the saxophone or drums.   Instead, I was told I had a flutist mouth and was given the flute.

To say the least...that didn't end well.   After a few years in junior high I went into sports and the flute upstairs is probably upstairs collecting dust!

I saw a b foot flute case at WWBW the other day and it was so tiny and cute!   Made me think about getting my old flute and seeing if I remember anything!

Reconnected and it feels so good...

So when I had my pacemaker replaced I got hooked up with a handful of percoset.   That medication can make you do crazy things.    And wouldn't you know I did.

I reached out to my grandmother that I haven't talked to since I told her I was gay!   That was nearly 9 years ago.

She was very loving on the phone and wanted to hear about myself and my kids.   No talk of Margot or my significant other.    That's alright though.

Yesterday, I went to the mailbox to find that she had sent my kids amazing valentine's day gifts.   It was heartwarming and quite honestly made me really miss having family that cared.

I'm glad I reached out to her --- even if it wasn't under the best of circumstances.   Maybe some day my kids will get to meet her too.
