Well, Saturday I ended up calling back the Fertility Center and spoke to the doctor. He said to get my blood retested Monday and hold off on the drugs until we get the results back.

Knowing that I'm doing this IUI despite the results of the testing Monday I decided to go ahead and stick with Plan A - starting up stimulation drugs Saturday!

So, I had a total of 5 shots last night and it wasn't too unbearable.

Tomorrow I'm going to get my bloodwork and I'm praying that it will come back with my progesterone levels under 5.

Tonight I only have three shots. YIPEE!

Uh oh.

So yesterday when I spoke with the doctor he said I could either take the meds or wait til Monday when they had my blood results. In hopes that by Monday my progesterone levels would have gone down.

I decided to go ahead and start up meds last. I did some research and found that the meds will not increase progesterone and really I have nothing to lose. Especially, if we were going to end up doing this cycle contrary to what the results were on Monday's bloodwork.

I also wanted this cycle to be consistant with the last IUI that resulted in a pregnancy.

So I had 5 shots last night! I had to finish up two of the Gonal-F pens that had about 75ius each in. I also did a little more of the meds than was written on my sheet. I figure I did it last time and it acted as somewhat of a boost.

I'll go Monday for my bloodwork and I'm pretty sure that the levels should have gone down. When thinking about it...I took my meds late last Friday (midnight) and then I went to get my blood taken 7 hours later - so it makes sense that my P4 levels were high.

Boy, I think the infertility meds are really starting to make me coo coo. I just can't imagine losing 16-18 good follicles on a little progesterone reading. Most doctors don't even do a progesterone reading!

Damnit.

I just got a call from the fertility center that my progesterone level was at 15 and they wanted to see it at 0. Therefore, they want to run bloodwork Monday.

In the meantime, he doesn't want me to start the injectible meds today because he would prefer that my levels go down.

AUGH. Of course, the levels are high because I took Progesterone in order to induce my period.

Damn....so close.

Cycle Day 3 bloodwork and ultrasound

We just got back in from our cycle day 3 blood work and ultrasound in Syracuse. Everything looked great!

I have approx. 10 follicles on the right ovary and 6 or so on the left. There didn't appear to be any big cysts and my lining is obviously getting thinner because of my period.

Dr. K actually popped in and ended up talking to us for a good 25 minutes or so. We talked about upcoming research, other doctor's, sperm banks, and his upcoming business plans. We didn't realize this but they are actually building a SPA next door to accomodate those women who are doing infertility treatments with acupuncture, massage, and other spa treatments.

What a great idea!

Tonight I start my injectible meds. YAH! I've never been so happy to poke myself numerous times with needles.

Fun night.

Well, we've all made it awake til almost 10:30pm (including Graem). We went over to Laura and Lydia's tonight and had a great night. We ate some good burgers and played Scattegories. I had never played it but it was actually pretty fun.

We got home to 34 messages on the answering machine. Supposedly, the subbing phone line had called and left tons of messages or else it just got stuck on our phone number! A teacher from a middle school had requested that I work this Wednesday for her.

So, it looks like I'll be teaching Middle School ART class! FUN!

Tonight we are going over to Laura and Lydia's to hang out. It's been quite a while since we've had a nice "girls night". Jen Caron spent the night last night. We celebrated her birthday and the four of us (Graem included) ate a FULL small carvel cake.

It was nauseating. Of course, I had to call Carvel last night and complain that the crunchies were not evenly distributed throughout the cake.

Why do they get me to do all of the dirty work?!?!

Weekend here I come!

This weekend we have absolutely nothing planned. Except of course for my doctor's appointment tomorrow at 7:30am.

I think after that we are going to take Grammy sledding down Rice Hill. Rice Hill is this amazing HUGE hill located in Ithaca and it's breathtaking! We took Graem when she was not even able to walk and pushed her down the hill! Of course, she was scared to death and I'm not sure she fully enjoyed the experience.

This year I think she'll love it and keep asking for "MORE!"

Today I feel miserable. My flow is so heavy that I've gone through tons of tampons and pads. I literally went to the bathroom every two hours and was horrified that I might have an accident while teaching.

Thank God it all worked out.

I'm kinda bummed that my appointment is so early tomorrow (7:30 in Syracuse). I'm going to be exhausted for the whole day since I have to get up at 5:30am. Maybe I can get Margot's ass out of bed to come with me!

Darn Debt.

After we graduated from college we had quite a bit of credit card debt. Then we entered into the workforce and accumlated even more! I think the whole idea of thinking "we're making money so we should have nice things" got the best of us!

The more we made - the more we spent!

It really adds up with the eat outs, nice clothes, fixing up an older house, and of course infertility! At one point we had accumulated over $30,000 debt and that wasn't including our cars and house.

My period is here!

And I am jumping up and down. Okay, not really. But it is here and with a vengenance! I'm not complaining believe you me. I called CNY Fertility already and I'm going in Saturday morning at 7:30 for bloodwork and ultrasound.

Of course, that means that I have to leave the house by 6:00am and wake up by 5:30am. So much for a weekend?!

AF is almost here!

Tonight I went to the bathroom and I had some spotting! That means that I'm about to get my period and I'm guessing by tomorrow she might be here! YAH!!!

I'm quite shocked and it makes me think that she might have been headed my direction even without the Prometrium. I only have 2 more doses of that anyway.

So, it looks like I might have to do ultrasound and bloodwork either Friday or Saturday. CD 3 will probably fall on a Saturday if I get my period tomorrow.

I'll call in tomorrow and see what they want me to do.

The great thing is that I can do all the monitoring locally now at OB-GYN Associates. That is going to make my life so much easier and I won't have to cart me and Graem up to Syracuse every 2 days!

I hate cars.

I really do. If it were up to me I'd take the bus or the subway. But being that we live in the suburbs it's really not much of an option. Especially since it's 10 degrees out and the bus only comes once an hour and once every two hours on the weekend!

I keep hearing strange noises coming from the Honda and I'm praying that it's nothing major like the radiator. I've heard that there are cheap radiators out there.
